A private house and entrance lodge are located in a former chalk quarry within the expansive rolling countryside of Hampshire and a designated Site of Important Nature Conservation. The main house is set against the dramatic backdrop of the quarry face within the south quarry and takes advantage of sun and views across its setting within the valley. The form of the house with its kiln shaped dining hall echoes the industrial structures and chalk kilns that formerly were deployed in this landscape.
