A new four storey house is proposed for the client’s son on a small but challenging site in the Islington Conservation Area. The immediate task was to create a site out of the rear yard of the corner building at the junction of Upper Street and Cross Street in Islington.  This entailed bricking in rear windows of the existing building and relocating them to alternate facades.  In this way the existing rear yard could become the site for the new building.
